I research how bodies learn, advise schools and universities on curriculum, and train teachers to work with what a learner’s body is already doing.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy, School of Social Sciences, at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru. My work sits where 4E cognitive science, Indian philosophy and critical pedagogy meet, and asks what changes in education once we stop treating the learner as a mind with a body attached.
I completed my PhD at IIT Jodhpur, on the educational implications of embodied cognition, after master’s degrees in Philosophy and in Applied Psychology. My monograph, Education for the Embodied Human, was published by Brill in 2025.
Before Ramaiah, I was a Research Associate at the Centre for Human Sciences, Rishihood University. I have presented my research in Italy, Denmark, Japan, South Korea, China and Ukraine, and I work with teachers and teacher educators in India on what the argument means for a real classroom.
